Position Summary:

Responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing processes for current products and support new product introductions on the welding and fabrication production lines..

Essential Functions:

• Analyzing the existing operations and initiating process improvements using time studies, line balancing, and other tools
• Creating/maintaining plant floor and manufacturing area layout drawings
• Participating in New Product Development process to ensure that product designs incorporate Design for Manufacturing
• Provide shop-floor consultations and support to the manufacturing team as you assist them in evaluating and resolving quality issues.
• Create and maintain process documentation as applicable.
• Lead and support safety and ergonomic programs
• Provide cost justification for capital projects
• Act as a liaison with product engineering, manufacturing, and program management as needed
• Support new product introductions
• Investigate, propose, and manage medium to large projects
• Communicate effectively to management, peers, operators, and conduct training as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related degree
• 5-7 years minimum experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Strong computer skills; especially MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• 2D and 3D CAD experience required, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor preferred
• Knowledge of Tooling and Tooling Design
• Knowledge of LSS and/or lean manufacturing principles with a proven track record of success
• Ability to train and become a certified Green Belt
• Six Sigma Green Belt certified preferred
• Effective verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excelling in problem solving, innovation, team participation, and self-motivation.
