Position Summary:


The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a Project Coordinator for primary support of a CDC project to address vaccine hesitancy and health needs in urban and rural Minnesota counties. The project will be conducted as part of a Cooperative Agreement and involve coordination with other institutions around the country and University Extension family educators. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) to increase COVID-19 and influenza vaccination rates. This position will be integral to overall project management and achievement of program outcomes.

This is a temporary, full- or part-time position (20-40 hours per week, as desired by the successful applicant), which is expected to last through July 30, 2024. Work will be conducted in areas throughout Minnesota. As such, this position will be eligible for work-from-home, and should expect to travel to events in the region as needed. This position involves travel to events in urban and rural Minnesota locations at the expense of the program. Because the University of Minnesota is a land-grant institution that serves the state, residing in Minnesota is typically required.

Position Responsibilities:


Project Management and Communication (80%):

  • Facilitate communication across a large multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team, comprised of university and community partners.
  • Work with program stakeholders to plan, organize, and implement outreach events, including vaccination clinics in diverse venues (e.g., clinical facilities, municipal buildings, businesses, schools, houses of worship, community organizations, public meetings and talking circles).
  • Work as part of the project team to conduct in-person and online surveys to collect data about vaccination status and vaccine hesitancy.
  • Assist in training new program staff and volunteers.
  • Activities as assigned in keeping with the grant deliverables.

Technical (20%):

  • Analyze and enter data into survey management system.
  • Develop post content, post and promote posts using Facebook to enhance public engagement.
