Regional Senior Accountant - Construction Job at Tecta America Corporation
The Corporate Senior Accountant - Auditor is a true business consultant to our operating units. They are the liaison between the accounting function and the operating functions at the National level.
The following are the primary responsibilities of this role:
- Develop labor burden and overhead cost standards, as well as monitor and adjust standards as necessary
- Review absorption of overhead costs
- Prepare work in progress reports for operations meetings
- Attend operations meetings
- Enter job budget adjustments
- Assist in project cost analysis on larger bids
- Review setup of new Project Cards
- Reconcile Project Costs to general ledger
- Create estimated costs to complete on bonded jobs
- Post over/under billing adjustments
- Complete Contract Profit report
- Perform account reconciliations
- Assist with developing and implementing inventory control procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and advise units to minimize amounts and increase turnover
- Oversee physical inventories
- Assist with month-end close
- Manage resource sharing between the units
- Review of compliance with financial policies
- Review and testing of transaction processing.
- Assessment of revenue recognition practices including
o project budget adjustments
o over under billed status
o cost of completion percentage to ensure accuracy of earned revenue and profit as reported.
- The position will interact with operating units, regional accounting, and corporate accounting.
Requirements:
- Job costing experience working in a Construction environment or related field preferred but not required
- Strong month-end close experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate others
- Experience managing change across an organization
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to collaborate with a multi-department, multi-location team
- Thorough current knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures
- Ability to travel 10%
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
