PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION IS ON A ROTATING SHIFT WITH ROTATION EVERY 2 WEEKS.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Focus on implementation of continuous improvement, scrap reduction and variation reduction programs
  • Apply standard 8-D, 5Y or similar problem-solving process to re-occurring production defects to eliminate root causes.
  • Participate in production troubleshooting as needed with team of lead hands and technicians.
  • Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of HSE Modules as assigned.
  • Responsible for improvement projects from start of defining the project to completed implementation.
  • Responsible for various plant improvements projects in conjunction with maintenance.
  • Conduct planned experiments possibly full level D.O.E.’s
  • Participate in health & safety and quality audit process.
  • Follow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment as required. See JSA & PDA for this position for details safety instructions
  • Understand TS / ISO requirements /Quality Policy. Always follow work instructions and procedures as established through the Quality Policy.
  • All other related duties as assigned from time to time


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Good communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong planner, well organized, able to handle conflicting priorities
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and related electrical control systems, PLC systems, pneumatics, and chemical processing equipment
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Office, PMXpert, MS Outlook, MS Internet Explorer or equivalent, Basic Excel


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • One to 3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in practical situations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen is a plus.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Please note that this position is located at the Woodbridge Chattanooga Formed Plastics facility located at 51 Lost Mound Drive, Unit 115, Chattanooga, TN 37406.
  • This position is on a rotating shift:
    • Standard shift hours for Day Shift are 6:45am - 3:15pm Monday - Friday.
    • Standard shift hours for Afternoon Shift are 2:45pm - 11:15pm Monday - Friday.
    • Standard shift hours for Day Shift are 10:45pm - 7:15pm Sunday night - Friday morning
    • Sunday start up begins at 7:00pm on Sunday nights and requires 4 hours. Start up is rotated between the teammates in the department.
  • Schedule hours may be altered as required. Ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as requested, is required.
  • Production, management and customer needs may also necessitate a reduced (less than 40 hour) work week.
  • This position is a salaried non-exempt position and as such, entitled to overtime pay.

  • New employees receive a non-elective Employer contribution equal to five percent (5%) of base.
  • Woodbridge also provides a 100% match on the first 3.5% of earnings that the employee contributes.
  • The employee is vested after 2 years of vesting.
