Avery Eye Care is expanding!

We purchased a second location and are looking for staff to help us grow! We are looking for one full-time and one part time employee at this time. The Full-time position would be Monday through Friday 8-5 or 9-6 alternating. The part-time position would be 2-3 days per week.

Avery Eye Care is a family-owned practice that strives to provide excellent healthcare and customer service to all patients. We are looking for someone organized, professional, and enthusiastic to join our team. The right candidate must be self-motivated, proficient with the computer and basic math, possess excellent communication and multitasking skills, and remain positive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Experience is not required, we will train the right candidate.

Optician job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Design complete eyewear product by incorporating frame design elements, lens materials and optics with patient’s prescription and lifestyle requirements
• Troubleshooting vision complaints, adjust frames, and repair broken frames
• Medical/vision insurance billing
• Maintain excellent patient communication, appointment scheduling, follow up calls on products, etc
• Keeping inventory on frames and contact lenses to ensure product variety and customer satisfaction
• Use Lensometer to ensure the correct lenses for the patient
• Edging/grinding lenses to fit frames
• Assist Contact Lens department in fitting/selling contact lenses
• Explain medical testing performed in clinical department to patients
• Communicate effectively with doctors, front desk, and clinical department

Requirements:

• High-School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, motor coordination, and ability to do precise work
• Experience in customer service or other fast paced environment
• Understanding of the anatomy of the eye as well as normal/abnormal vision and perception. Training provided on the job but studying at home is strongly encouraged
• Seeks out and accepts feedback about job performance.
• Emotional stability, ability to deal with personal, professional and organizational change and growth
• Professional manner in work setting
• Neat, well groomed, follows dress code

Pay range is a starting rate. After 90 day probationary period you will have a review and compensation will be discussed. After that you will receive annual reviews.
