Responsibilities

Related Management is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join us at a 442 unit affordable community in Groton, CT.

At Related Management Company (RMC), Maintenance Technicians perform essential work to keep their properties in great shape. Your skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other areas will help your property team better prepare vacant units for occupancy, making more units available faster to those eligible for affordable housing in your community. You'll demonstrate pride in your building by completing service requests in a timely manner, interacting with residents, and keeping your property's systems in good working order. In this role, you'll have plenty of growth opportunities in partnership with your supervisor - to learn additional maintenance skills, leadership skills, or business skills to help advance your career.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform property maintenance and facilities work.
  • Coordinate completion of resident and management service requests in a timely manner.
  • Prepare vacant units to occupancy standard within established time frame.
  • Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds; immediately address safety issues with management.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities in partnership with supervisor.
  • Partner with Maintenance Supervisor to prepare site for inspections.
  • Maintain workplace safety policies and standards, including current COVID-19 standards.
  • Rotating on-call responsibility for emergency maintenance repairs.
  • Maintain inventory of building materials and supplies.
  • Must be a team player and be able to work with little supervision.
  • Support site and office operations as assigned by manager.

Compensation:
  • $20 an hour

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in general maintenance.
  • Experience in affordable housing preferred.
  • Plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliance repair and electrical experience required.

Work Environment:
  • Emergency on-call rotation is required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • This role is based at 442 Apartments in Groton,CT.
