Overview
- Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
- Administers spending against the departmental budget.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans for learning and development, including identifying training needs and developing training programs to address them
- Collaborating with senior leadership to develop training programs in areas such as leadership development and conflict resolution
- Providing guidance and counseling to employees on personal development issues related to career planning and goal setting
- Conducting performance reviews to evaluate employee performance and recommend ways to improve performance where needed
- Managing employee performance through coaching, counseling, training, and discipline when necessary
- Creating organizational culture through communication strategies that align with company values
- Developing training materials and providing training services to employees to ensure they are meeting their job requirements
- Developing and implementing a succession plan for key positions in the organization, including identifying future leaders and creating development plans for them
- Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
- Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
- Reviewing new technologies for training applications and recommending effective uses to leadership
- Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Modifies programs as needed.
- Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
Required Skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to design and implement full-cycle performance management programs.
Educations and/or Experience
- 5+ years of broad HR Learning and Development and Performance Management.
- 3+ years of experience in leading a team of professionals.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
- Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various reporting.
