Gertens Retail Store in Inver Grove Heights is seeking SEASONAL full time and part time Sales Associates in our Lawn & Garden Department! You will be responsible for selling product specific to this department such as gardening essentials, bird seed, insect repellent, fertilizer so much more! In this position you will work with customers to find merchandise to fit their needs and recommend products based on knowledge and their wants and needs.

What will your day look like in the Lawn and Garden Department?

• Creating and maintaining a warm, inviting, easy-to-navigate shopping environment.
• Helping and affirming customers in finding the product specific to their wants/needs.
• Keep store and yard neat and organized, following all safety policies to ensure safety of staff and guests.
• Processing sales including cashiering, input of orders using POS system, set up and tracking deliveries.
• Delivering an exceptional consumer shopping experience that leaves guests feeling inspired, enabled, affirmed, and eager to return.
• Ensuring accurate pricing and signage for product merchandise.
• Continuing product education to provide the most valuable experience to customers.
• Work well independently, resolve problems, relate well with various types of individuals, exercise good judgment, and work cooperatively in a team

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Excellent customer service skills, some experience preferred
• Self-Starter, Organized with high attention to detail.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather including extreme heat, rain, wind, etc.
