Location: Lincoln County, OR
A Job Developer acts as a liaison between our clients and external businesses. He or she will facilitate and obtain appropriate employment for persons served by implementing the principles of individualized job development.
In addition, the Job Developer has the following responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain written Vocational Profiles for all individuals receiving job development services.
- Utilize the principles of individualized job development to negotiate jobs for people in all day programs, as well as those referred to BAE by Vocational Rehabilitation.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationship with Vocational Rehabilitation and local placement agencies. This position requires a minimum of four contacts with businesses per week.
- Communicates on a regular basis with support services personal agents, co-workers, vocational rehabilitation counselors, families, county case managers, and networks of support to report progress and identify solutions to employment barriers.
- Completes documentation for vocational services required by outside agencies and BAE in an accurate and timely manner.
- Identifies and refers individuals to Social Security Work Incentive (benefit counseling) as appropriate.
- Obtains/maintains any certifications that may be required and participates in training focusing on progressive methods in job development.
- Facilitates, participates in, and/or attends OVRS meetings to maintain contact with counselors and persons seeking employment.
- Able to meet placement and retention quotas set by supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned to ensure that the department and organizational strategic goals and mission are met.
Required qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass federal, state, and local background checks
- Must pass drug test (THC not included) to include random drug testing
- High school diploma
Preferred qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Job Developer
- Experience in working with people with disabilities
- Ability to adhere to regulations and standards
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- BS/BA in social studies, business or relevant field
