We are looking for an experienced IT Support Specialist for our new HQ location in North Bethesda, MD as well as be able to travel to our Gaithersburg, MD office.
Our goal for this position is a hands-on IT support pro, owning day-to-day internal IT support for employees and contractors. The position calls for a strong mix of technology and people skills, as well as a passion for high-tech and problem-solving. The IT support specialist will provide support for incoming staff, so they can take full advantage of the tools they need to succeed at Xometry.
What You'll Do
- Actively participate on an IT team providing services and solutions to the employees of Xometry.
- Serve as the first point of contact for the company’s users.
- Collaborate with IT engineers and leadership to become a valued member of a cross-functional team.
- Responsible for the services that are owned by your team including taking part in an on-call rotation.
- Work in an environment that supports your individual growth.
New User Impact (40%)
- Conduct weekly new user technology orientations both in person and using remote training resources as well as prepare new Windows laptops, desktops and Apple Macbooks for distribution to employees.
- Ensure new users are in all of the appropriate mailing and security groups, and work with managers to keep those lists up to date.
- Identify training opportunities when troubleshooting and take the opportunity to teach and instruct staff on corporate technology (e.g. software applications, hardware/devices, access methods, etc.).
Documentation (25%)
- Create detailed wiki articles on FAQs related to a variety of IT topics, including those around the day-to-day support issues that arise.
- Provide helpful tips and tricks to current staff through Slack, Confluence, email etc.
Help Desk Support (35%)
- Resolve issues around the use of desktop and SaaS applications (including Okta, Windows, Mac, Google Apps, Office 365, Slack, Confluence, Acrobat, and other generally used user applications) both desk-side and virtually via remote control/video conference/phone.
- Support communication resources: Video conferencing, AV solutions, Zoom, 8x8 VoIP phone system.
- Deploy & configure peripheral equipment: Monitors, scanners, keyboards, printers, docking stations.
- Support asset management efforts and manage software licensing including Okta assignments.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience in a training or staff support role.
- 2+ years of experience in end user support.
- Experience with Google Suite, MS Office 365, Windows 10/11, Mac Os Zoom, Slack, Okta, Acrobat, MS Teams, and Confluence.
- Experience in hardware support of desktops, laptops, tablets, printers and other peripherals as well as wireless devices such as iPhones and iPads.
- Experience with audio/visual setups for online meetings (e.g. Zoom video conferences and VoIP phones usage).
- Ability to speak effectively and respond to common inquiries or complaints from all levels of staff.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work after hours when needed.
