Position Summary:

This exciting opportunity & role involves overall responsibility for the Innovation & Portfolio Management within the Joints Engineering function, for the Warsaw & Raynham Sites. This role will involve leading the deployment, integration and management of the Innovation Management processes, supporting the Business planning strategies & prioritization, facilitating Business performance status – governance led and leading standardization across the Joints Engineering portfolio.

Key Responsibilities (N/A for pre-defined)

  • Development of Innovation Management Systems for use across the DePuy Synthes Cluster, with the ability to support, manage E2E, Facilitate, but not limited to, the following:
    • Project / Portfolio Management
    • Project / Portfolio Metrics
    • Value Capture Plan Management
    • Innovation Excellence
    • Capital/Expense Management
    • Resource Management
  • Key partner to local leadership team in prescribing optimal return from project activity.
  • Governance of the end-to-end innovation lifecycle portfolio – ideas, feasibility, implementation.
  • Ensuring the sites long-term project pipeline is secured through active feasibility projects that are aligned to overall business strategy and technology roadmaps.
  • Supports Planisware adoption for managing project and portfolio data.
  • Provides a management tracking and reporting system, enabling data mining and report generation.
  • Owner of reporting on defined engineering metrics - project spend, resource loading, savings pipeline.
  • Site level implementation project prioritization, risk assessment and resource management.
  • Site deployment and management of CI2 tools, templates, and methodology.
  • Ensure consistent sites adoption of Planisware for management of project and portfolio data.
  • Provides support for project planning, development, and implementation.
  • Supports Project/Portfolio Leaders in constructing project business cases.
  • Training, coaching and mentoring fellow employees in areas pertaining to the job responsibilities.
  • Works and communicates well with others in a team environment
  • Strong focus on alignment across Innovation Management systems and processes, providing automated solutions where feasible
  • Participates in and understands all compliance related activities pertaining to the role

Experience/Knowledge Required: (N/A for pre-defined)

ESSENTIAL:

  • Degree level educated in one of these fields or similar: Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering, Production / Supply Chain Management, Lean Operations, Portfolio Management.
  • Subject matter expertise in project resource/finance management including such areas as resource management, FTE demand, risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Overall business experience required, with minimum experience in a portfolio management systems role.
  • Demonstrated leadership, training delivery, and deployment of portfolio management at multiple levels of an organization.
  • People management knowledge and experience
  • Strong cross-functional business acumen
  • Proven track record in leading significant Change initiatives that have delivered breakthrough results for an organization.

Preferred

  • Project/Portfolio Management qualification/certification – e.g. Diploma, Masters, PMP, Prince, etc..
  • Leadership of project team or people management experience
  • Experience in design, implementation and scaling of portfolio management business systems
