Carolina Meadows is hiring for an experienced HVAC Controls Technician for their Chapel Hill, NC market. The HVAC Controls Specialist is primarily responsible for providing technical troubleshooting and programming building automation systems, schedules, and system program language for proper sequences of control on HVAC systems responsible for maintaining and auditing Plants' energy management systems.

As the HVAC Controls Technician you will:

HVAC Controls: Applies advanced skills and knowledge in programming, adjusting, installing, maintaining, and problem-solving on various types and brands of HVAC control systems:

• Monitors and maintains campus HVAC controls and databases, as well as collecting and maintaining data for Energy Management Systems.
• Maintains all heating and air units for residential and commercial buildings.
• Performs diagnostic tests and troubleshoots commercial and residential HVAC equipment including boilers, hydraulic looping systems, and gas-fired HVAC.
• Performs preventive maintenance to commercial kitchen equipment and controls throughout the community as required. Assists with the installation and replacement of units when appropriate.

HVAC Building Maintenance: Provides maintenance to all buildings units throughout the community including boiler rooms, HVAC units, etc.:

• Maintains condition of boiler rooms, blows down boilers, and identifies repairs to oil pumps and valves; ensures operation and condition of the boiler room are in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Installs ductwork for all HVAC systems in residential and commercial buildings.

To be successful in the role you must possess:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), eight (8) to ten (10) years of general maintenance and multiple phases of HVAC experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• North Carolina Freon certification is required.
• Experience as a skilled refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic.
• Successful completion of maintenance and/or trade school training classes on digital control systems.
• Preferred six years of experience with at least three of the following control system brands: Allerton, KMC, Johnson, Honeywell, Trane Tracer, Carrier, Niagara, Jace, Tridium, and Delta.
• Possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of power and hand tools and be knowledgeable on state and federal building codes.
