Heat Treat Helper Job at Howmet Aerospace
SUMMARY
Assists in heat treat applications for titanium, nickel based alloys, stainless, and alloy steels. Assist with the operation, adjustment and routine maintenance of all furnace controllers. Straightens metal plates, weldments, and structural shapes or preheats them preparatory to welding or bending.

- Ability to move parts on and off pallets.
- Ability to read and interpret shop order instructions, specifications and other written and verbal instructions.
- Load and unload furnaces.
- Places work piece into heating furnace for specified period of time.
- Will learn to perform hardness inspection and read conversion table (ASTM E140).
- Load couple preparation.
- Grinds parts.
- Must have understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions.
- Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Minimum six to twelve months related experience and/or training.
- Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U. S. Person status. ITAR defines U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card' Holder), Political Asylee or Refugee.
