Graduate Admission Recruiter Job at St. Xavier University
The primary responsibility of this position is the recruitment of students to Saint Xavier University’s graduate degree programs in the Graham School of Management, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the College of Arts and Sciences. Recruitment is conducted via in-person meetings, on-campus and online information sessions, and participation at external and internal recruiting events. This role requires a disciplined approach to conducting continuous communication and follow-up with prospective students and current applicants.
The Graduate Recruiter is responsible for providing prospective students with graduate program information, admission requirements, application deadlines, as well as collecting supplemental documents from those who have applied, while verifying that applicants meet all program requirements. This professional must provide exceptional service to all prospective students and applicants, and must also build strong relationships with graduate program Directors, staff, and all those stakeholders involved in serving the graduate students. The Graduate Recruiter must be a team player and contribute to a collegial, goal-oriented, and positive work environment.
- The Graduate Recruiter is responsible for a caseload of incoming inquiries, prospective students, and incomplete applications, and works toward recruiting them into the different graduate programs. This entails continuous contact with prospective students via virtual or on-campus meetings, phone calls, emails, etc. to ensure that they are progressing through the admissions process quickly and easily and are having the best possible experience.
- The professional completes sales-related and marketing administrative projects that include managing communications and entering prospective and current applicant information into SLATE, the University’s Customer Relationship Management platform, running reports, and conducting research on the adult learner and other related industry trends.
- Assistance in the coordination and planning of graduate on-campus open houses and other recruiting events
- Mostly local travel to yearly off-campus events.
- Continuously search for new target audiences for enrollment.
- Expected to provide high quality student service in a fast-paced work environment, meet performance benchmarks.
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Communications, Marketing or related field. Master's degree and experience working in higher education preferred.
- High level of energy and drive, and an entrepreneurial spirit are required.
- Attention to detail, ability to work in fast-paced environment and competitive industry are necessary.
- College admission experience, sales experience, strong business acumen, a mindset for marketing and promotion, and experience working in a goal-oriented environment are strongly preferred.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills and group presentation skills required.
- Excellent technical/computer skills required - including Microsoft Word, Excel,
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management platforms a plus.
- Ability to travel locally and potentially out of state - access to automobile and valid driver's license is required.
- Evening and weekend work may be required -especially during peak recruitment periods.
- Commitment to teamwork is essential and being able to build quality relationships with all constituencies within the Saint Xavier community is necessary to be successful
