YOUR MISSION AS A GENERAL MANAGER:

Your mission as a General Manager at VEG is to lead your people and operate your hospital to success. Are you a people leader that’s never worked in the veterinary or medical field? That’s okay! Your history with operational success and experience with coaching and mentoring large teams will help you thrive at VEG.

Your top priority is ensuring that VEG customers and VEG employees have the best possible experience in your hospital every day. You have the autonomy to lead your hospital and your people to success, while actively advancing VEG’s culture, engagement, efficiency, growth, and financial health.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

In order to successfully run VEG hospitals the VEG way, our General Managers must:

• Partner with your hospital’s Medical Director to oversee all financial, operational, and people related functions of the hospital.
• Communicate company-wide objectives with your staff and align your hospital’s actions in support of those objectives.
• Mentor and lead support staff by facilitating regular developmental meetings and providing educational opportunities and resources.
• Market your hospital to prospective customers and to the veterinary community by identifying and attending relevant local and regional events.
• Manage processes in the hospital including inventory and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in regular financial meetings with your hospital leadership team to understand cost analysis and to develop strategic plans to increase your hospital's overall profitability.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• 8-10 years of direct people management and multi-unit operational experience with teams of 40+
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in scheduling, recruiting, training, facilitating developmental meetings, performance management, and building effective teams
• A bachelor's degree in business, finance, human resources or similar discipline is highly preferred
• Financial management experience: P&L oversight including budgeting, payroll, accounts receivable
• Operations management experience: inventory, facility management (multi-unit is a MAJOR plus!)
• Emotional intelligence: self-awareness and a desire to be coached and to develop personally

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
