JOB SUMMARY: The Front Office Reception is primarily responsible for assisting patients with check in, screening insurances, collecting payments, overseeing triplicate RX pick up and offering patients general assistance and excellent customer service. Position is located on-site in Occidental, California and requires some evening and Saturday schedules.
Duties:
- Greeting and providing check-in assistance in a manner that ensures patients feel valued and supported within the health center.
- Acts as a Health Center liaison between patients and back office
- Acts as Call Center liaison to triage
- Collect and account fees for service
- Counsel patients for eligibility programs including Sliding Scale, BCAP, and Family Pact
- Manage information entry into the electronic health record such as faxes, previous medical records, radiology results, and assist with communication with other medical facilities through the electronic health record.
- Assist in the adoption and implementation of new technologies and activities that improve patient care and clinic efficiencies.
- Creates communication board listing: triage, on call/OB schedule, covering provider for the health center
- Run No Show/ Late Cancel reports
- Respond to web encounters
- Records and dispenses triplicate RX’s to patients
- Assist other office staff with copying, scanning, faxing, filing, and other general office duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- Completes opening and closing check lists
- Must comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, and WCHC policies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience:
- Bilingual Spanish/English REQUIRED.
- Experience in an outpatient setting or working with a health clinic desirable.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with office machines such as fax, copier, calculator.
- Good communications skills
- Efficiency working with an EHR (Electronic Health Record) is desired
- Basic office and equipment safety knowledge and practice
- Demonstrated commitment and skills to provide age appropriate care to a diverse population

- Attendance and punctuality is necessary.
- Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including some nights and Saturdays
- Ability to problem solve and be self-motivated with acute attention to detail.

- Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Must have ability to manage priorities and workflow.

- Able to work independently with little or no supervision.

- Demonstrate a positive customer service, patient centered approach at all times.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move freely about the office and carry light loads (up to 25 pounds)
- Prolonged standing and /or sitting required.
- Ability to work with office equipment, including computers
