DONATION CENTER - SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME) Job at Memphis Goodwill, Inc.
JOB DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Director or Regional Managers, the SME is the designated train-the-trainer in the specified area of Donor Greeting. The SME ensures attendants are greeted in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner; assist donors with the unloading of donations from vehicles, offers tax receipts, and maintains accurate daily counts of donations. The SME will ensure a neat, clean, organized, and hazard free work station; free of debris and trash. They must consistently exceed the functional requirements in the role of the Donation Center Attendant.
1. Greets donors within 10 seconds.
2. Trains new hires in their specified area of expertise.
3. Ensures 100% donor and customer satisfaction.
4. Adheres to and coaches trainees through the use of Goodwill’s Guiding Principles.
5. Greets donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner; assist donors with the unloading of donations from vehicles, offer tax receipts, maintains accurate daily counts of donations.
6. Separates donations into categories.
7. Maintains drive-through and work area in a clean and organized manner.
8. Transports trash to compactor/dumpster and operate compactor as needed.
9. Adheres to all MGI and personnel policies and procedures; follow good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards.
10. Reviews and utilizes the Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall Handbook.
11. Follows good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards.
12. Other duties as assigned by the TLC and/or ATL.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to lift up to 60lbs, bending, pushing, pulling or reaching
2. Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Variations of temperature.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS:
1. Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with Director of ADCs, Regional Managers,
team members, customers, and donors.
2. Ability to maintain a positive friendly attitude and a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
3. Must be able to communicate effectively and provide general feedback.
4. Attends in-service related training as assigned by the TLC and/or ATL.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to bend, reach, and stand for extensive periods of time, and lift up to 60lbs. on a regular basis.
2. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing; and perform basic mathematical skills.
3. A high school diploma or GED
4. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends/ flexible schedule
