Culinary Arts Instructor is responsible for teaching students in classroom and kitchen lab environments. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their maximum potential with industry-based instruction that develops competencies that supports hospitality transformation and leading to postsecondary education and/or employment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and revise programs, courses, syllabi, and objectives to ensure instructional and programmatic responsiveness to the occupational and academic needs of students and reflect accurately the expectations the faculty has for their students and any new competencies delineated in the programmatic evaluation process, and to ensure instructional quality as demonstrated by students' achievement of competency-based objectives.
- Stay current of changes that occur in discipline. Participate in departmental initiatives to infuse changes into curriculum. Participate in interdisciplinary discussions which are directed at improving student learning and evaluating core competencies curriculum.
- Participate in college activities which include but are not limited to orientation, convocation, in-service, graduation, and workshops designed for professional growth and development.
- Identify and address high priority activities first
- Communicate clear expectations for assignments.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain operating effectiveness.
- Ensure that all federal, state, and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met.
- Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control
Required Qualifications:
1. Associate's Degree or Higher in Culinary Arts and three (3) years of work experience.
