This supported living management position with our nonprofit earns a competitive salary of $47,000 - $55,000/year, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMUNITY LIVING MANAGER

As a Community Living Manager in human services, you're responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Supported Living, In-home Support, and Day Support Activities programs. You prepare each client's individual service plan (ISP), which includes facilitating medical protocols and other documents of support. Alongside the program director, you review referral packets to identify individuals who can benefit from our programs and complete the "new entry checklist" for all new participants. You implement training for staff regarding ISPs, ensuring that important documents are maintained and completed within established timeframes.

Additionally, you attend critical client appointments and make sure that medical records are maintained according to standards. You act as an advocate for client rights and choices as well as hire and train staff who share the same commitment. As needed, you provide direction or disciplinary action and are always readily available to solve staffing issues as they arise. You complete comprehensive performance evaluations for staff and provide adequate training, technical assistance, and support as applicable. Using your exceptional organizational skills, you ensure the support staff schedule is posted in a timely manner and manage hours to maintain minimal or no overtime expenses.

Each month, you conduct a mandatory staff meeting to ensure our program is up to standards. You also complete accurate payroll within an established timeframe as well as make sure all program expenses and purchases have administrative approval. Promoting a safe work environment is of the utmost importance to you, which is why you supervise our clients with disabilities to ensure their well-being at all times. You promptly report any possible safety issues to the appropriate personnel. Your hard work keeps our supported living programs running smoothly, and it brings you great satisfaction to know your hard work improves the lives of our clients with disabilities!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMMUNITY LIVING MANAGER

  • Bachelor's degree OR 3+ years of working with persons with developmental disabilities
  • 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Ability to become a company driver
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Strong English language skills
  • Leadership skills
