Terrific interim Billing Coordinator position with a health and human services nonprofit in New York City. The Billing Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the organization's billing and payment processes. Responsibilities will include submission and collection of billing claims, posting payments, verifying insurance, and reconciling visit/billing reports. Strong experience with medical billing is essential for this role. Qualified candidates will have approximately 5+ years of related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) billing software is required. The position is temporary and expected to last into September. Salary is $27.47 to $30.21 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Oversees and coordinates the billing process including submission, posting payments, rebilling, and reviewing declined billing
- Reconcile AR and payments monthly with the finance department
- Communicates and coordinates with third party payers
- Maintain accurate documentation for all claims and contractual adjustments
- Ensure that all remittances are accurately posted
- Verifies patient insurance and follows up on claims that are unpaid or denied
- Follows and complies with policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Approximately 5+ of years of billing experience within a healthcare setting
- College degree preferred
- Experience with medical billing software eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and under deadlines
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including an understanding of Excel
- Open Dental experience a plus
