Overview: PART-TIME 0 - 25 hours weekly

The Audio/Visual (“A/V”) Technician is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) Christian mission, vision, beliefs and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats. All staff join into our community life of prayer, worship and spiritual activity, including but not limited to staff meetings, attendance at programs, Bible Study, and staff gatherings.
Position Objective:
The A/V Technician, in conjunction with the Manager of Audio/Visual Services, provides quality audio/visual services to MHA sponsored and guest conference events in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

Key Job Accountabilities*:

  • Provide quality A/V services for the events taking place at MHA. This includes mixing live music, operating lighting systems, operation of cameras and recording equipment, as well as visual presentation software.
  • Set up meeting rooms with requested equipment prior to a group arriving.
  • Help with sound checks when groups have checked in and help instruct groups on adjusting sound levels, even periodically mixing their worship time.
  • Upgrade and repair equipment as needed in accordance with MHA A/V requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications: Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Minimum high school diploma.

Work Experience:

  • Previous audio/visual and production is a must.
  • Customer service experience and work with clients and guests preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to operate up to date digital sound boards and all equipment associated with them.

  • Familiarity with ProPresenter and other software presentation programs.
  • Familiarity with how to facilitate live streaming audio and video from a live performance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a professional manner.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Physical Demands:
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, ability to lift/carry 50 lbs., etc.

Additional Requirements :

  • Must agree to and comply with MHA’s employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and personal vehicles for business purposes,
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
