Job Summary:

The Application Engineer will be working with the US West Region, with the goal of effectively solving customer problems using best-in-class Altair solutions. This will include traveling to customer locations, communicating best practices with customers and exchanging ideas with the software development teams.

What You Will Do:

• Act as the primary point of contact for several key accounts in SouthWest (USA) for all technical activities including presales, technical support and consulting.
• Work with the sales managers to identify and prioritize strategic long-term and short-term technical activities in support of the Account growth plan.
• Achieve a long-term relationships with key technical people at the account and maintain a deep working knowledge of the customer’s goals, key business initiatives, technical challenges and CAE infrastructure.
• Promote advanced simulation solutions & identify opportunities at key customer accounts to solve engineering problems through solution sets, automations and consulting available within the Altair Suite.
• Identify threats to key customer accounts requiring defense against competition, custom solutions and additional training.
• Penetrate new markets by running POCs and architecting new technical solutions in new domains.
• Review account technical support activities to ensure appropriate follow-up, recognize usage trends and training needs.

What You Will Need:

Basics:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years experience using commercial finite element analysis solutions
• Experience with structural simulation solutions
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
• Aptitude for solving engineering problems

Preferred:

• Experience in Application Support, Technical Pre Sales and Consulting
• Scripting knowledge using Python
• Kowledge of FEA in the oil and gas industry
