Description:

The Advisor I for Data Visualization will be supporting the growing demand for our agency to demonstrate its programmatic impact. The Advisor I will ensure that we can leverage data to:

• Make data-informed decisions
• Tell stories of impact in our work
• Support specific learning efforts/plans with data analysis
• See where our programs are thriving and respond when we are lacking
• Help our donors trust their investments in our agency and its work
• Show us trends in our work
• Engage with our peers to demonstrate our expertise
• Position ourselves for new funding opportunities.

The position will advance CRS’ work in partnership, local capacity strengthening and leadership by connecting and analyzing new and existing data points from each of the growing number of streams of work (i.e., functions, units, projects…) that are contributing to the capacity and leadership of local organizations and institutions. Examples of some existing data points include : data on partners types and sub-types; data analysis and capability for detailed drill-downs for past partner capacity assessments and any subsequent action plans, cross-referencing multiple year partner, as well multiple partners assessments and/or action plans across CP and region, PCS data comparison on progress made against set targets, where needed/possible cross-reference between PCS quantitative and qualitative data, data on program expenditures related to PCS efforts and cross-referencing financial data with achieved targets/PCS milestones data ; data on additional resources to partner organizations; data on supply chain management: cash and voucher assistance; food commodities (based on individual awards); data on projects and participants. The Advisor I for Data Visualization will work closely with our East and South Africa regions, our Partnership and Capacity Strengthening team, and will report to the KML for OverOps unit to ensure alignment with the strategic frameworks for data quality and analytics for OverOps teams.

Responsibilities:

• Identify new and existing data points
• Create modular dashboards and other such visualizations using PowerBI, or related applications
• Analyze and identify action points based on new and existing data
• Contribute to the creation of a MEAL framework that connects existing data sets of streams of work (i.e., various units, projects, functions, departments) contributing to partnership, local capacity strengthening and leadership.
