The Accountant will be responsible for providing ongoing support for the monthly close process including the monthly reporting package submitted to Hopkins majority owners, by maintaining and reconciling certain accruals, journalizing adjustments and generally assisting where needed. Processing customer marketing and advertising support claims. Assisting at year end with audit requests and budget development. Providing support for cash posting.
1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with monthly Financial Close including JE’ s, variance analysis, accruals and reconciliations
  • Assist with year-end budget development
  • Research and provide information related to audit requests
  • Assist with monthly ONCAP package
  • Ability to create and support needed tax reporting
  • Calculate quarterly royalty obligations
  • Calculate and maintain Marketing Allowance accrual
  • Research, validate and process customer fines and shortages
  • Other special projects as needed
  • Provide backup support for cash posting activity
2. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Three to five years experience with some tax experience

  • Above average human relation skills that demonstrate an ability to work with internal and external persons at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to create, lead and work in a team environment
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong time management skills
