General Position Summary:

The Account Manager is a key member of the Business Development Team, whose focus and key result is revenue growth and retention. This team is responsible for executing BPA Health’s strategy in the markets and industries we serve as well as brand building through marketing and stakeholder relations. The Business Development Team collaborates with our internal clinical and operations experts and our external partners to develop new products and craft business proposals. The team is responsible for account management of all customer contracts.

The Account Manager is responsible for customer retention, acquisition, engagement, and loyalty. They create, lead, and execute efforts to service and renew existing accounts, with an emphasis on public sectors. Relationship management, service and contract deliverables are critical aspects of the role. The Account Manager is also responsible for identifying new business opportunities in existing accounts and assisting in acquiring new business. The Account Manager is responsible for providing input to BPA Health leadership regarding trends, developing new lines of business and improving existing lines of business.

Essential functions and activities:

  • Set and achieve data-driven account specific objectives through effective planning, data analysis, knowledge of customer needs, and concise communication
  • Respond to customer and broker inquiries and quote requests
  • Conduct sales channel operations
  • Perform ongoing market and competitive analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
  • Manage contract implementation
  • Maintain and manage CRM and other databases including prospective and current customer profiles, communication tracking, account/contract status
  • Prepare for and manage successful renewals
  • Ensure account profitability
  • Ensure timely and thorough stakeholder relationship management
  • Ensure operational compliance with contract deliverables
  • Participate in development and execution of account management business plans and strategies
  • Achieve customer satisfaction, retention, and growth by ensuring high quality service delivery to members
  • Ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules and budgets
  • Ensure system and data integrity related to the business including operations systems, compensation/incentives and information to invoicing
  • Coordinate educational training, health fairs and education for members and account management presentations
  • Deliver utilization reports and ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met and communicated to customer

Requirements:

Experience and/or Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in account management, sales, marketing, healthcare, behavioral health, and/or government affairs preferred
  • Experience in human resources and employee benefits preferred
  • Strong CRM and Microsoft Suite experience, knowledge and skills preferred
  • Experience with employee assistance programs, behavioral health, and healthcare and/or insurance industry preferred
  • Experienced and proficient in public speaking

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to read, talk and hear. The employee is continuously required to walk, sit at a computer workstation, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to operate a vehicle or have a reliable transportation for offsite meetings.

Travel Requirements:

  • Reliable means of transportation required
  • Must be able to travel 50% or more to accomplish customer service standards and member service tasks
