Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City has a great opportunity for a Assistant Director of Youth Care Workers. We are a residential certified facility licensed and Joint Commission accredited. JOB SUMMARY: Provides leadership and supervision of YCW/MHT and Youth Care Coordinators. Must ensure the performance thereof in accordance with clear expectations and goals. Participates in the development and implementation of residential behavioral programs. Assist in the evaluation of the performance of YCW/MHT and YCC. providing feedback and mentoring and contributing to staff professional development. Serves as a representative and promote the best interests of their staff and the patients that they care for.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, a staff person must be able to perform each of these essential duties satisfactorily. 1. Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, procedures and work standards for residential services.
2. Organizes, assigns, directs, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned staff and/or an interdisciplinary team.
3. Participates in the selection of personnel and provides for their training and professional development.
4. Oversees the day-to-day treatment administered and operations of residential care.
5. Develops statistical information and analyzes data for special projects and committee of the whole; makes recommendations for improvements to enhance services for the residential unit.
6. Conducts in-service training for staff; review methods and practices for program compliance; maintain and review relevant records; prepare required reports.
7. May assess patients or evaluations presented and make clinical recommendations for admission.
8. Assists in interpreting and reviewing federal, state and insurance provider rules and regulations, and recommends appropriate internal policy and procedures related to The Joint Commission and State Licensing Agency
9. May be required to complete, or assist in completing, the duties of the DCS in times of his/her absence.
10. Assists Program Director in coordinating clinical services within the department; performs administrative functions in support facility.
11. Assists in designing and implementing new staff orientation for YCC/YCW.
12. Supervises clinical staff on the units.
13. Conducts chart/documentation audits on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and completeness
14. Assures that all shifts are covered and collaborates with the Program Director to fill vacant shifts.
15. Assist the Program Director with compliance in all aspects of residential care.
16. Assures that patient and employee safety are respected.
17. Assures that all patient’s rights are respected.
18. Assist Program Director in carrying out his or her duties as a means of providing the best care possible.
19. Directs staff in securing an environmentally safe and healthy environment.
20. Expertise in adapting care to suit the behavioral and emotional needs of patients
21. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements, reporting any known or suspected violations to his/her supervisor or through other means identified in company policy.
22. Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following proper restraint technique guidelines, and displaying neutral emotions.
23. Consistently meets facility and regulatory training requirements by attending all mandatory meetings and staff training sessions as required.
24. Communicates throughout the shift with the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Clinical Services, Leadership on call, nursing department and therapists regarding resident and staff matters. Ensures that Leadership instruction is carried out as directed.
25. Provides supervision to YCC/YCW’s to ensure care of residents in a manner that considers safety, resident’s rights, and resident’s comfort. Maintains confidentiality, and respects cultural and religious differences.
26. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements, reporting any known or suspected violations to his/her supervisor or through other means identified in company policy.
27. Other duties deemed necessary by the Chief Executive Officer or Program Director.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in a medical or behavioral health facility.
Minimum of thirty (30) college credit hours.
