The Key Program is currently seeking a Full Time Youth Service Coordinator, who will work collaboratively with the Department of Youth Services (DYS), Old Colony Y and Key personnel. The position will be based out of the DYS New Bedford Regional office.

Qualifications:* A Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field required. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the juvenile justice, child welfare or behavioral health field required. All candidates must be 21 years of age or older; have a valid state driver's license; and, have a legally registered and insured car for work use.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts client itinerary monitoring to include school, employment, curfew and clinical appointment attendance.
  • Assists the DYS Caseworker in ensuring youth are prepared for discharge from DYS; participate in discharge planning meetings with DYS staff.
  • Identifies and develops relationships with local community-based organizations and providers and establishes her/himself as the point of contact.
  • Completes all documentation thoroughly, professionally and in accordance with DYS/Key/Old Colony Y timeframes and paperwork requirements
  • Identifies pathways for DYS youth and families to access benefits and services.
  • Assists in community-based client transportation adhering to DCF policies.

Key works in conjunction with the MA Department of Children & Families (DCF), MA Department of Youth Services (DYS), the MA Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) and the RI Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) and is an agency provider of both community-based outreach services and residential treatment programming.
