The Youth Mentor / Facilitator engages youth ages 13 and older in meaningful and entertaining activities. Integrate our services with engaging gaming activities, workforce development, and conflict resolution workshops to empower youth to a path of success. Collaborate with Youth & Family Services staff on administrative tasks, program planning and case management, including escalation and referrals. This is a part-time position - Mondays through Fridays - from 3pm to 7pm (summer programming hours may vary).

Primary Responsibilities/ Tasks:

• Plan and provide program activities including, but not limited to, workforce development activities tutoring, recreation, field trips, entertaining activities: gaming, arts, gardening, other fun activities.
• Participate in youth program by engaging youth, providing support & monitoring for safety issues.
• Encourage youth’s attendance toward program and activities.
• Assist in client transportation to attend program.
• Intervene and follow up on incidents related and assist in crisis situations involving youth(s).
• Assesses safety issues and addresses them as applicable.
• Maintain communication with staff on each youth progress.
• Ability to cook and provide snacks.
• Other duties related to youth programming as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• A minimum of High School Diploma (Associated degree in Human Services or college student in related fields preferred).
• Highly motivated individual who interacts well with youth and young adults.
• Proactive in engaging and interacting with youth and establishing good rapport with them.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and in collaborative environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, social media, basic photography skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to effectively handle documentation and paperwork.
• Ability to secure clearance for PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History, FBI, and National Sex Offenders Clearance (required).
• Ability to secure health clearances every two years and TB once (required).
