We are looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our clients' software, hardware and computer networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our clients' technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

We provide them with remote and onsite IT support with over 97% of all work handled remotely. Occasionally we will need you to go to a client's local office within the Portland Oregon Metro Area.

As a Windows System Administrator you'll be responsible for supporting our client's Microsoft servers, desktops, firewalls and related I.T. technologies. We have a room full of educated, certified, and trained professionals eager to teach you the ropes and also learn from you. Responsibilities

• Install and configure software and hardware
• Manage network servers and technology tools
• Set up accounts and workstations
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and outages
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
• Assist in development of standards and procedures.
• Document all work performed in ticketing system.

Skills

• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Ability to create scripts in PowerShell
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus

Other Requirements

• Night and weekend work are needed occasionally
• Rotating on-call schedule
• Must have car for onsite work at customer locations here in Portland. We reimburse 65.5 cents/mile which is the maximum mileage rate allowed by the IRS this year which covers gas, insurance, maintenance and usage.
• Must be a U.S. citizen. Some of our clients are military and aerospace contractors need to be U.S. ITAR compliant. This means they require their employees and us to be a U.S. citizen to enter their facilities and login to their computers.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
