Vista Vet - Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge is looking for a veterinary assistant to join our dynamic team. We have a state-of-the art, new facility located in beautiful Round Rock, TX. We are looking for the right balance of technical and client skills to join our fast-growing 4 doctor practice. The right individual must have:

• At least two years of veterinary assistant/technician experience in an animal hospital setting required.
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Excellent punctuality with reliable transportation
• Ability to multi-task and complete assigned tasks
• Quick learner with the capacity to work in a group as well as by yourself
• Problem solving skills with the ability to follow directions in a timely manner
• A willingness to learn and grow within the position
• Ability to lift 30 pounds

Duties, Responsibilities, and Technical Skills:

• Communicating with clients in a warm and welcoming manner
• General cleaning, hospital & equipment maintenance
• Assisting doctors with patients while providing exceptional customer service, including client education
• Basic animal restraint training
• Intermediate medication knowledge and administration skills
• Understand the fundamentals of how to use most medical equipment, including lab, x-ray and computers
• Animal husbandry skills

This job requires rotating evenings, weekends, and holidays. We would prefer a full-time position, but would consider the right candidate for part time! We offer a competitive hourly wage with paid vacation after one year of employment.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
