Masis Staffing is excited to partner with a client in Derry NH that is looking for a Tool Technician. This is a temp to perm position.

Pay Rate- $ 28-30 per hour
Hours- 3:30pm-11:30pm

Job Function:
Clean, repair, document and prepare molds, tools and equipment to make parts to customer specifications. Goal is to meet or exceed customer requirements in quality, delivery and cost.

Supervision Received:
Receives direction from the Tooling Manager as to the nature of assigned duties and job responsibilities. In the absence of the Tooling Manager will receive direction pertaining to schedules and priority of workload from the Manufacturing Manager. Must be self disciplined working with little supervision.

Essential Requirements:
GP-100-101, Work Environment (Presented Training, Category 2)
GP-100-103, Mould Maintenance
Follow the established preventive maintenance schedule for the mold.
The Tool Tech reviews the Navision Tool Ticket for issues identified by QC during the last production run.
The mould is examined on the bench for any functional issues, gassing, or signs of wear.
Areas of the mould contacting resin and any vents including natural vents are to be stripped down and cleaned to remove any residue.
If one exists, the specific mould maintenance work instruction for the mould should be consulted to identify if any unique maintenance is required by the mould.
Where possible, test functionality of the mould before placing it in storage.
Update the Navision Tool Ticket with the details of the maintenance performed.
Mould Maintenance Objectives are developed and tracked with activities to continually improve.
Move the mould to the appropriate storage location

Additional Requirements:
May be required to attend training meetings and or informational meetings.
Monitor safety issues and take corrective action.
Manage communication to all personnel with required information especially shift to shift to meet production requirements.
Read, interpret and follow company policies and procedures.
Maintain equipment to standards, will perform minor maintenance as required and request appropriate maintenance when needed in a prompt manner.
Must set example in all actions of work, discipline, attendance, quality and performance.
Perform related work as required.
Be available on an on call basis for tooling problems.
Order tooling for mold repair work.
Troubleshoot mold problems and repair.
Document all work on molds from simple preventive maintenance cleaning to major component changeovers.
Possess the ability to use measuring equipment i.e. calipers, micrometers, verniers, and other common inspection machinist tools.
Ship, receive and inspect mold repairs and components as required.
Prevent non-conformity to customer expectations when known, identify and record any non-conformity in accordance with corporate procedures and initiate corrective action to prevent future occurrences, in both customer and internal concerns.
Train shop personnel (Manufacturing Manager, Process Technician, Shift Supervisor, General Foreman, Shift Leaders) on the proper way to clean and maintain molds.
Document training activities.
Support and maintain housekeeping activities to company standards and guidelines.
Ensure documentation is complete and concise.
Possess the ability to assemble and/or repair tooling by reading and following tooling prints.
Assume the duties of the Tooling Manager in his/her absence.
Assist Tooling Manager in maintaining an inventory of spare components for the maintenance and repair of molds.

Working Conditions:

1. Work in a well lighted, climate controlled indoor shop area.

2. Exposure to loud noises and vibrations during work hours.

3. May encounter cleaning solvents in the performance of duties.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to stand and walk, for long periods, throughout the workday.

2. Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enhance these senses to function adequately.

3. Must be able to lift and move objects with a maximum weight of 75 pounds.

4. Must be in general good health and demonstrate emotional stability.

5. Must be able to work in a drug free and alcohol free environment.

6. Must maintain good personal hygiene.

7. Must have the ability to use powered lifts. (powered pallet jack, forklift and mold set lift)

Qualifications:

1. Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent supplemented with basic courses in machine shop operations and the use of machining equipment.

2. Work experience: One year working in a machine shop environment using Lathes, Mills, and Surface Grinders.

3. Read, write and speak English language.

4. Must demonstrate leadership qualities and abilities.

5. Must have adequate transportation and possess a valid drivers license.

6. Must be willing to pursue further training and education.

7. Must possess a telephone and/or provide communication access.

8. Demonstrate attendance exceeding basic company guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Must be able to function independently, have the flexibility and ability to work efficiently with others in a leadership capacity.

2. Must possess knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and practices used in injection molds.

3. Must have the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

4. Possess the ability to perform in a flexible and adaptive manner to situations and work demands.

5. Must possess the ability to plan, review and recommend changes to standard operating procedures.

6. Must possess thorough knowledge of materials, methods and practices commonly used in the manufacture of plastics.

7. Must possess knowledge of effective supervisory practices and procedures.

8. Must possess the ability to input data on computer and type basic operations notes for communication daily.

9. Must posses the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and outside contacts.

10. Must possess the ability to interpret and work from sketches and diagrams.

11. Must possess knowledge of the development and implementation of management goals and objectives.

12. Must possess the ability to supervise and train a small group of employees.

13. Must possess knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

14. Possess the ability to operate machine shop equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
