Technical Assistant role located in the technical department at Miami Valley Hospital.

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories, as a subsidiary of Premier Health, implemented the requirement that all employees as a condition of both initial and continued employment must receive vaccination against COVID-19, or complete policy compliance through an approved medical or religious exemption. These requirements must by met as a condition of hire. Failure to do so will result in a delayed start or withdrawal of employment offer.
Full Time Day Shift (6:00am-2:30pm)
Every other weekend/Holiday Rotation
Full Time Evening Shift (2:00pm-10:30pm)
Full Time Night Shift (10:00pm -6:30am)
Every other weekend/Holiday Rotation
Evening & Night Shift are eligible for 15% shift differential
Summary
Perform various tasks is assigned laboratory departments to assist technical/pathology staff accurately and efficiently generate test results. These tasks may include, but are not limited to, quality control, specimen handling and preparation, as well as testing and reporting.
Duties
1. Operate laboratory instrumentation independently including complex troubleshooting and scheduling field service calls as deemed necessary following the directions of department laboratory professional and pathology staff.
2. Understand all menu pathways of local computer system as it pertains to assigned job function including instructing technical staff on advanced computer functions.
3. Handling client related questions and concerns in a courteous and efficient manner following department policies and procedures including the scheduling of complex texting.
4. Perform specimen handling, control, and tracking functions, which may include the handling of potentially infectious/carcinogenic materials.
5. Track, inventory, and order supplies as needed. Submit credit requests and interpretation fees, scan raw data patient assay results into Optika and retrieve patient reports as directed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. 3-4 years of clinical lab experience preferred. Excellent communication skills required. Medical terminology and keyboarding skills helpful. Must be able to lift/move approximately 50 pounds.

- Must be able to work well under pressure or in stressful circumstances.
- Will have exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals
- Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company.
- Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas.
- Complete required training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
- Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.
