Description:
Teaching assistants/paraprofessionals help students who struggle with academic, behavioral, adaptive, and/or social skills. The teaching assistant/paraprofessional assists the classroom teacher by implementing instruction and interventions to increase student achievement and/or improve student performance. You will be supported by the teacher and a team of other staff members and provided professional development based on your classroom assignment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Meets all mandated health requirements.
- Documentation of a clear criminal record.
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
- Valid Ohio Department of Education Permit appropriate for the assignment.
- Self-directed and able to learn required skills for the position.
- Ability to physically manage students with disabilities.
- Congenial disposition and strong diplomacy skills.
- Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques is preferred
Salary:
Commensurate with experience and in accordance with specified salary schedule
Reports To:
Director of Student Services and Coordinator of Special Education
