The Swimming Pool Supervisor is pay range 133 of the Eureka County Pay Scale starting at $27.10. Salary will depend on experience and qualifications.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Pool Supervisor has responsibility for annual budget projections, administration, operation, and maintenance of the pool and surrounding pool facilities. Other responsibilities include developing, implementing, and conducting training programs. This class differs from the Assistant Pool Supervisor in that the Assistant Pool Supervisor’s primary responsibilities are training and supervision of the lifeguards and attendants, record keeping, and instructing classes in water safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certification as a Pool/Spa Operator; certified as a Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, Lifeguard Instructor, and maintains basic certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid; certified as a Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Water Safety Instructor and teaches swimming lessons; must be at least eighteen (18) years old; submit to pre-employment drug/alcohol testing; submit to fingerprinting for background check. Submission to drug and/or alcohol testing prior to reporting for work or during scheduled shift.Experience and Training: The knowledge and ability listed above may be acquired through different types of education, training, and experience. An example of a typical way to acquire the qualifying knowledge and ability is listed below: At least one (1) year of work experience supervising a similar facility, community program, or business activity that involved public contact.Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Strength, stamina, and dexterity to swim, work standing and walking for extended periods; walk on uneven or slippery surfaces; perform manual tasks using hand tools, perform repetitive motions including sweeping and shoveling snow; coordination and dexterity to adjust and make minor repairs to equipment; strength to lift and carry supplies, tools, and equipment weighing in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds; strength and stamina to rescue adults from water; visual acuity sufficient to see work performed in a variety of lighting conditions, including bright light, low light, and low visibility conditions; depth perception sufficient to maneuver tools; tolerance to noisy work environment.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Knowledge and Ability: Knowledge of supervisory skills in motivation, documentation, counseling, and disciplinary procedures. Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working environment which allows for positive relationship with public and staff; enforce and maintain daily and hourly records of work performed; enforce and maintain the uses of janitorial tools, outdoor equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner; enforce and carry out written and verbal instructions; enforce facility’s operation procedures; train assistant manager, lifeguard instructors, lifeguards, CPR, first aid, water safety instructors, and attendants; teach water safety classes; swim and keep basic lifeguarding skills current.
