Surgery Scheduler Job at Miami Valley Hospital
Position: Surgery Scheduler (RN)
Dept: Surgery Administration
Shift: Full Time 8am - 4:30pm / 80 Hours pe Pay
Facility: Miami Valley Hospital
This position combines duties and obligations of computerized surgery scheduling, customer relations and information systems. In addition, this position performs clerical and computer duties necessary to the function of the surgery center; scheduling all inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures at the request and convenience of the surgeon and/or office personnel; receiving incoming phone inquiries and maintaining fax machine orders, while working closely with the nurse managers, service line leaders, and directors in running an efficient/cost effective surgery schedule.
Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Valid Ohio RN license
- Current BLS certification required at the time of hire.
Experience: Minimum 1 - 3 years of Operating Room, Perioperative Services or other procedural area (i.e. Cath lab, endoscopy) experience required in addition to basic knowledge of EPIC preferably EPIC OpTime.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
- Basic computer knowledge
- Strong organization skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
