About the role:
The Supplier Quality Engineer II is part of the Global Quality Service Supplier (GQSS) team and focused on all aspects of supplier selection, supplier process & and technical support for Boston Scientific. The GQSS team is responsible for the technical leadership, supplier monitoring and resolution of non-conformances within the service supplier supply chain.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Represents Quality on teams comprising of representatives from Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Business Units.
- Demonstrates skills in vendor relationships, vendor requirments for Commodity and Category Management.
- Responsible for supporting Quality, Cost and Service team objectives.
- Supports Continuous Improvement of Quality & Quality Systems, Service Capability and Total Cost of Ownership throughout the Supply Chain.
- Supports investigation of Quality issues as they arise. Works with Quality, Procurement & Business Units to resolve issues.
- Educates vendors on the Boston Scientific (BSC) Quality System requirements.
- Works with Procurement, Global Sourcing, BSC Departments (such as calibration, Labeling, Warehousing/Logistics, Labs) & Business Units/Project Teams to ensure that service suppliers meet established requirements.
- Ensures that Supplier Corrective Actions are identified, implemented and successfully completed by Suppliers
- Provides guidance to other BSC functional departments in applying BSC Supplier Management system requirements
- Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvement of Supplier Management Policies and Procedures.
- Leads Service Supplier Audits
- Manages the Approved vendor List for Service Suppliers
- Identifies, Supports and Leads Material Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s) throughout the Supply Chain.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering/Technology or related degree
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or service provider environment or equivalent with direct experience in a quality assurance environment.
- Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
Preferred qualifications:
- Medical device industry experience
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 17025
- Experience in Supplier Control/Management activities
