The job of Supervisor of Information Technology is to provide high-level technical support to the IU programs and to other districts within the Delaware County. This position provides network, hardware, software technical support and services to include network design and installations. The position is cross-trained with the Network Administrator position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Administer and maintain the IU's Network infrastructure.

• Under guidance of the Chief Information Technology Officer, oversees development, evaluation, and coordination of the IT systems for the IU and the Delco-net countywide network for the purpose of maintaining the most up-to-date and efficient systems to support member districts.
• Design, implement, and evaluate systems for the purpose of supporting end users in the productive use of computer hardware/software
• Develop and maintain continuous improvement of the service desk operations.
• Responsible for evaluation of system security, network integrity, and back up procedures for the purpose of ensuring that no system is compromised.
• Facilitate communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within and outside of IU for the purpose of identifying user’s information management and technology needs.
• Negotiate with all vendors supplying multiple information and communications systems and projects while assuming responsibility for the management of such systems (e.g. voice, data, imaging, and office automation) for the purpose of ensuring the IU is receiving the best vendor support for the best value.
• Responsible for development and implementation of solutions to meet CITO’s objectives for operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the IT systems and a plan for continuous improvement of the service levels.
• Assist CITO with identifying and developing entrepreneurial opportunities.
• Responsible for availability and performance of the enterprise and RWAN (e.g. operating systems; firewall; VolP; content filtering, spam filtering; layer 2 & 3 core switches; routers; Wireless controllers/AP; routine maintenance programs, etc)
• Serves as Lead Security Engineer for all on premise and cloud services.
• Provides leadership and support to IT Network Administrator and Network Security Engineer including but not limited to assistance with day-to-day operations and providing the evaluation.
• Attends assigned meetings for maintaining communication with stakeholders, discussing technical issues and identifying work performed.
• Ensures maintaining of detailed records of repairs and maintenance and submits as directed to the CITO.
• Oversee timely and appropriate equipment changes (e.g. switches and devices; installing software; changing configurations or the physical network; creating sub, stand alone, or parallel networks, etc.) for the purpose of fulfilling service requests.
• Solves complex problems using rigorous analysis and drawing information from a wide breadth of sources.
• Maintains service levels to customers as per negotiated SLAs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the CITO

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree with study in job-related area. Master’s degree in job-related area is preferred.

Equivalency: 5 years' experience in network support and Engineer-level industry certifications.

Certification Required: Network Plus Required, Network Engineer Preferred

Experience Required: Five (5) or more years of related, full-time, paid work experience, preferably in K-12 vertical.
