WellStone is North Alabama’s most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville, and Cullman . We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.
We are hiring for Adult Substance Abuse Therapists.
Openings: Full Time, Week Days
What we're looking for:
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or a related field with an internship/practicum
- Ability to perform group instruction & activities
- Good organizational & documentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and/or referral sources
- Proficient writing skills
- DSM V knowledge
- Knowledge of community agencies
- Experience preferred working with the seriously mentally ill
- Effective planning skills
- Knowledge of various clinical interventions to treat substance use disorders and mental illness
What you'll be doing:
- Plan, manage and direct client caseload as well as individual treatment of clients
- Provide clinical documentation, which is accurate, timely and in accordance with all regulatory standards
- Maintain clinical records to comply with all applicable standards
- Provide Crisis Intervention and Resolution services as needed
- Provide consultation to individuals (s) and/or group (s) regarding substance use disorders and/or mental health treatment
- Know and follow established program policies and procedures
- Exhibit proper attitude and work ethic as established by Program Director and Center standards
- Meet productivity standards as defined by the Center
- Other duties as assigned by Division Director.

Education
Required- Masters or better in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, etc
