Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position - Stated Briefly
:
The primary function is the reconciliation of suspense accounts in a timely manner, including review & research outstanding items to ensure they are cleared within corporate guidelines. In addition monitor, review and collect outstanding Producer/Dealer balances.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile monthly premium suspense accounts in a timely manner including the research of outstanding items. Adhere to corporate guidelines in clearing outstanding items. The suspense account reconciliation includes a sub-reconciliation of our premium financed business. All suspense reconciliations require certification in Assurenet.
- Balance cash received and deposited to the cash applied in the business admin system
- Monitor dealer accounts with the intent of collecting on past due balances. Work with Sales team and Agents during collection efforts.
- Apply and balance payments for Winstar (Mortgage Insurance program). Calculate commission on Winstar program and record monthly entries for premium, claims, commission, and reserves.
- Review and reconcile Escheat account. Work with various team to identify and resolve unclaimed property payments
- Other duties and/or special projects may be assigned to meet business needs
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Must be self-motivated, reliable, accountable, and team oriented
- Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Able to work well under pressure, establish priorities and multi-task
Abilities
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Minimum three years’ experience in an Accounting environment
- Strong reconciliation experience, minimum three years
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Have the ability to quickly identify and respond to internal and external customers
- Proficiency with AS400 Administration systems; Microsoft Office Suite programs including extensive excel experience
- Must be able to comprehend a problem and understand the desired result
Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $48,000 to $54,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities [through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance] OR [through cash compensation as part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).
