Our servers and bartenders are the face of Twisted Biscuit Brunch Co and responsible for our Guests’ experiences. The primary goal of our servers is to provide high-quality service that keeps guests coming back time after time. Servers and bartenders are responsible for positive Guest interactions while serving Guests in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our customers have exceptional dining experiences. At all times, servers and bartenders are expected to be attentive to our Guests' needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

The right person will be passionate about food and service and thoroughly enjoy creating excellent experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing disposition and previous experience working as a Server or bartender in a bustling, fast-paced restaurant setting.

Server Responsibilities:

  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
  • Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars
  • Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Fill in for absent staff as needed
  • Assist with special events as needed
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary

Server Qualifications:

  • Previous serving experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent oral communication skills required
  • Positive interpersonal skills required
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
  • Food Handlers Card Certification where applicable by law
  • Must be of legal age (18) to serve alcoholic drinks according to state requirements

In addition to the skills and qualifications above, bartenders must have the following skills:

  • Mix and Serve Drinks: Bartenders mainly work behind bars, taking customer orders and preparing drinks. They should be thoroughly knowledgeable about wines, beers, and liquors and understand how to mix various cocktails and other drinks.
  • Maintain Bar Area: Bartenders keep the bar clean and orderly. This includes everything from wiping down glasses and the bar top to maintaining an inventory of liquor and bar supplies. Bartenders typically keep bar stocked and peel and slice various fruits used for garnishing drinks.
  • Discernment – bartenders must be well versed in their state’s alcohol and liability laws; able to spot customers who may have had too much to drink and unobtrusively take steps to prevent intoxicated customers from drunk driving by arranging transportation or calling a taxi; as well, they have to be on the alert for underage patrons
  • Organization – bartenders are multi-taskers—they serve multiple customers at the bar as well as making drinks for restaurant patrons; they have to keep track of who ordered what, who paid, who still owes; and they have to keep the bar stocked and clean
  • Team player – bartenders should be adept at working in a team environment, as they work closely with waitstaff, managers, and other servers
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months experience behind the bar
