Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Server at The Vue, the restaurant located within IHG Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites Long Beach Airport. The Server will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable and memorable. This position requires a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, ServSafe certification and alcohol RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) training are required for this role.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables, ensuring prompt and courteous seating.

Present menus and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations when necessary.

Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.

Relay orders to the kitchen staff and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to guests.

Check on guests throughout their dining experience, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns.

Process guest payments and provide accurate change, using a point-of-sale (POS) system.

Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.

Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Upsell menu items and promote specials to maximize guest satisfaction and revenue.

Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and utensils.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Carry trays with food and beverages, weighing up to 25 pounds.

Bend, reach, and lift items above shoulder level when necessary.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.

Possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with coworkers.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or hospitality environment.

ServSafe certification.

Alcohol RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) training.

Knowledge of food and beverage pairings and menu items.

Familiarity with a point-of-sale (POS) system.
