Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Marketing Senior SEO Strategist is responsible for web SEO strategy development and implementation as directed by the Interactive Website Strategy Manager.

The Senior SEO Strategist provides overall SEO support of health system websites as assigned to include keyword research, on-page recommendations, SEO performance review and analysis including competitive analysis using provided software/tools, schema implementation and updates as needed. This position guides digital vendor relationship to support our sites, SEO support level knowledge of CMS, work alongside web developer to ensure SEO best practices are supported on the websites and provide SEO support to initiatives driven by strategic marketing roles in support of business goals and priorities.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages the traffic and publication of content for the hospital’s websites by using the content management systems in place.
  • Implements SEO strategies and support content updates to the website while ensuring department standards for timeliness and quality are met.
  • Works collaboratively with departments and staff to develop and implement SEO tactics for web-based marketing strategies and tactics as developed by the Interactive Web Strategy Manager.
  • Uses SEO mastery and technology skills to drive organic traffic to web pages on the sites based on organizational priorities. Provides guidance to marketing team on current SEO best practice by staying informed on current trends, search engine developments and major algorithm changes
  • Collaborates as digital expert on marketing teams, as assigned, covering areas including but not limited to – marketing automation, email newsletters, native/display or search engine marketing (and keeping abreast of trends in the evolving world of digital marketing), social media strategy development and plan development in partnership with project owner.
  • Works with marketing team SEO expert, writers and designers to develop search engine-friendly content to build traffic to the websites on its own and in coordination with digital and traditional consumer and physician campaigns.
  • Responsible for monthly e-newsletter development including content input, design support and coding for email campaigns. HTML email projects can include email communication such as newsletters, confirmations/reminders/follow-ups and other consumer or physician marketing.
  • Works project requests from various hospital departments and multi-disciplinary care centers. Assists with assigning priorities for each assignment and tracking outcomes.
  • Assists and supports marketing in building and incorporating the hospital brand and image into the look and feel of the sites using content management system templates, including redesigns as needed.
  • Maintains hospital graphic standards throughout the site and social media, as assigned.
  • Supports the implementation of SEO/SEM strategies as developed by the Manager and/or contract vendors.
  • Evaluates and approves links for hospital website from external websites.
  • Collaborates with hospital personnel across campus to facilitate internet development and content collection.
  • Participates in and facilitates marketing and communication efforts in conjunction with marketing managers and other staff.
  • Coordinates reporting analytics for website areas of responsibility, social media and e-publications monthly, as assigned.
  • Primary contact for SEO vendors as assigned by the Web Manager. Maintains contact with digital vendors and assists with the implementation of upgrades and new software.
  • Provides recommendations and may assist with the creation of new content or adjustments to content based on SEO performance and keyword trends and search volumes.
  • Researches other websites and make suggestions about content expansion in support of keyword search volume trends, competitive analysis, SEO strategies and future trends.
  • Delivers SEO updates to web developer and works with developer, providing QA assistance, to ensure proper implementation of updates.
  • May be a primary point of contact for other vendors, as assigned by manager, requiring health system support/input on our SEO implementation, practices, work flow or strategic plan.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three (3) years of direct experience working with SEO strategy development and implementation is required.
  • Excellent computer skills and software knowledge compatible with Google Analytics, SEO, schema development and other on-site SEO coding support
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Advanced project coordination skills
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external groups
Preferred:
  • Experience in a healthcare setting or similar environment is preferred.
