The opportunity

The Senior Clinical Programmer is responsible to provide high level skills of clinical programming support of clinical projects and regulatory submissions. The Senior Clinical Programmer is playing a lead role generating and validating analysis datasets, tables, listings and figures. The Senior Clinical Programmer participates in the development of global data standards, SDTM, ADaM and Teva’s database structure. The Senior Clinical Programmer is responsible for providing professional expertise and leadership through leading departmental tasks and taking initiatives in improving clinical programming processes with focus on SAS Programming.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Primarily work on the departmental processes like managing databases in Oracle which support SDTM standards infrastructure.
  • Ensure timely, efficient and high-quality deliverables.
  • Need a thorough understanding of ETL processes to support operational data processing for Clinical databases
  • Participate in creating and managing tables, indexes, db links and privileges.
  • Create stored packages, procedure, and function to implement the data extraction and transformation logic.
  • Lead implementation of business applications, using SDLC methodology.
  • Conduct technical design review meetings with system analysts and QA team and seek approval for development.
  • Perform and document unit testing.
  • Work with Vendors to participate in Clinical study start-up activities using CDMS and other Clinical Vendors like Lab or EC
  • Experience in authoring DTS
  • Thorough understanding of Clinical trial process


Your experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in the areas of Science, Statistics, Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in a pharmaceutical or clinical research setting as a programmer.
  • 5-7 years of Oracle experience
  • Experience in SDTM acquainted with CDISC Guidelines
  • 4+ years of SAS experience
