In the absence of the Senior Center Operator 1, the Alternate Senior Center Operator 1 is responsible for planning and implementing programs and/or activities in the active adult center.
They will need to maintain the inventory of the nutrition supplies, nutrition records for the center, and monitoring of the quality of bulk foods which include checking the temperature and portion sizes.
This employee will need to coordinate the distribution of food items with the assistance of the volunteers, sanitize the dining, serving, and kitchen areas, as well as the washing of the pots and pans and other preparatory utensils.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Part-time employment.- Work hours are 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties. If no eligible candidates who live within Luzerne and Wyoming Counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Monroe, Schuylkill, and Sullivan Counties will be considered.
