Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or any applicable field and 3 years of experience, or alternatively, a Master’s degree in same and 1 year of experience.
Experience must include:
- Performing photochemical grid modeling (CMAQ and CAMx),
- Emission modeling (SMOKE), and model evaluation (AMET)
- Ensuring compliance with federal air quality regulations and guidance for modeling (NAAQS, PSD)
- Conducting data analysis on air quality modeling results using Python, Linux (Shell scripting), and NCL.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Conduct scientific investigations using advanced air quality (AQ) and atmosphere models and interpret modeling results to provide solutions for clients concerns and issues.
Duties include:
- Conduct photochemical grid modeling to determine ozone and particulate matter (PM2.5) levels using the Comprehensive Air Quality Model with Extensions (CAMx) and US EPA’s Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) models.
- Perform emission and dispersion modeling, and conduct data analysis on results using Python, Linux (Shell scripting), and NCL; prepare AQ emission inventories and evaluate emission mitigation measures.
- Perform statistical and geospatial analyses of air quality and meteorological data; conduct advanced analyses of AQ modeling results using Linux computer clusters.
- Prepare reports and communicate results of scientific investigations to clients; evaluate AQ modeling tools for accuracy and functionality.
- Ensure compliance with federal AQ regulations and guidance for modeling; and mentor junior AQ consultants.

Salary Transparency Statement
At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual rate between $103,000 and $129,000. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
