Pay Range: $92,000 - $113,561 annual compensation

A Sr. Civil Engineer - Roadways job is available in the City of Fort Worth in the Capital Delivery Division of the Transportation and Public Works Department. The ideal candidate must be able to work within tight time constraints, have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with an ability to work independently under the direction of an Engineering Manager, and possess good oral and written communication skills.

This position qualifies for the following incentives which is separate from the base pay:
Sign-On Incentive of: $5,400 ***50% paid after the completion of first pay period, 50% paid after the completion of 6 months of employment. ***

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
• Three (3) years of professional civil engineering experience as a licensed Professional Engineer.
• Two (2) years of the previous required Three (3) years must relate to major roadway design and construction projects and/or infrastructure design/review of private development projects.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas. (If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six months of employment.)
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with comprehensive capital project delivery program in design, construction, inspection, and close out.
• Supervisory and or leadership experience.
• Experience within a municipal government, as it relates to project delivery.
• Experience with e-Builder and BIM 360.

The Sr. Civil Engineer - Roadways job responsibilities include:

• Lead teams comprised of engineering consultants, other staff engineers, and inspectors, in the management and execution of complex and dynamic arterial projects which include: roadway and sidewalk paving, drainage, bridges, intersection and safety improvements, water and sewer, street lighting, railroad crossings, streetscape and other infrastructure improvements.
• Coordinate with a variety of stakeholders to deliver projects on schedule and on budget.
• Provide direct support to the Engineering Manager and will assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, goals and objectives; monitor work activities; and make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
• Creating the project management plan for each project (including the project charter, risk register, and communication plan); managing the scope, schedule, and budget of each project.
• Undertaking design reviews of consultant prepared construction drawings and specifications, including conducting design review and public meetings.
• Managing professional services and construction contracts, preparing and negotiating contract amendments, change orders and task orders.
• Reviewing and approving payment requests; and performing other tasks as needed while utilizing City of Fort Worth software/systems and processes.
• Assisting in the development and growth of younger engineers as well as providing input to executive leadership in the enhancement of our City processes and creation of work instructions.
