Position Overview:

Novelis North America (NNA) is seeking a senior accountant to support the inventory accounting team based in Atlanta, GA. This role has a wide range of responsibilities related to the costing, analysis, and reconciliation of inventory for NNA tollers to ensure completeness and accuracy of amounts reported. Primary duties include preparation of month-end journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analyses. This role will report to the Accounting Leader, Inventory Accounting.

  • Be an active member of the inventory accounting team, provide guidance and expertise to NNA tolling team.
  • Prepare and record monthly accounting entries and conduct all required reconciliations to ensure closing process meets company deadlines with accurate information.
  • Prepare monthly reports specific to the tolling organization, analyze tolling P&L to understand financial results
  • Prepare and/or review tolling reconciliations along with analysis of key drivers of variances.
  • Prepare quarterly reports to corporate accounting for quarter end financial reporting.
  • Perform monthly and ad hoc variance analysis to identify opportunities and possibilities for improvement in financial performance and be able to discuss findings with senior management.
  • Periodically review internal processes for improvement in timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency automating these processes where feasible.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university is required.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • SAP and OneStream experience is a plus.
  • Be a role model for leading and developing a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and independently.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey and explain complex policies and guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs.
  • Excellent verbal, math, and writing skills.
