America’s Favorite Jewelry Store, Ross-Simons Jewelers, a division of Luxury Brand Holdings, is seeking a Seasonal Polisher based in our Cranston, RI office. The Polisher is responsible for polishing precious metal pieces (silver, gold, platinum) using basic lapping and polishing techniques, while adhering to Ross Simons safety and quality standards and work instructions.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Polisher is responsible for polishing precious metal jewelry, sterling hollowware and flatware pieces to Ross Simons production and quality standards.
- Understand the use and effects of various compounds and wheel for the finished polishing.
- Perform related polishing duties such as operating lapping machines, racking and washing products as needed.
- Maintains polishing equipment and stock of equipment polishing compounds.
- Informed manager of items needing re-order.
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AN REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years’ experience in polishing precious metal jewelry (silver, gold, platinum)
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to eight hours per shift
- Manual dexterity is required
- Occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to the weight level of 15 lbs. or greater
- General color and peripheral vision required with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to select proper tools and materials for the job and follow work instructions
- Ability to remain focused
- Must have good hand and eye coordination and the ability to recognize problems while polishing
- Excellent attention to detail
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
