- R. I. Certification School Psychologist
- Masters Degree in School Psychology
- Experience in psychological testing of children K-12
- Experience in counseling students K-12
- Skills in parent and teacher consultation
- Standard 1: Teachers create learning experiences using a broad base of general knowledge that reflects an understanding of the nature of the communities and world in which we live.
- Standard 2: Teachers have a deep content knowledge base sufficient to create learning experiences that reflect an understanding of central concepts, vocabulary, structures, and tools of inquiry of the disciplines/content areas they teach.
- Standard 3: Teachers create instructional opportunities that reflect an understanding of how children learn and develop.
- Standard 4: Teachers create instructional opportunities that reflect a respect for the diversity of learners and an understanding of how students differ in their approaches to learning.
- Standard 5: Teachers create instructional opportunities to encourage all students development of critical thinking, problem solving, performance skills, and literacy across content areas.

- To provide consultation to staff as determined appropriate by the Superintendent, and/or building principal in an attempt to remediate concerns about students prior to referral.
- To evaluate any student referred and determine the need for psychological testing by the multi-disciplinary team review process.
- To write reports of such evaluations and interpret the findings to parents, teachers and other team members and to submit such reports to the team leader (if not acting in said capacity.)
- To provide consultation to staff as necessary on special education students in the mainstream.
- To provide counseling to students either individually or in small groups as determined appropriate by the multi-disciplinary team. Goals and objectives must be stated and data collected for evaluation purposes as well as anecdotal records of counseling sessions kept.
- Responsible for Team Leader Responsibilities (if applicable and as assigned by the Superintendent.)
- Assume other responsibilities as might be assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services, Building Principal, and/or Superintendent.
