The Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services (RSVP) Coordinator of Advocacy Services (CAS) will lead advocacy efforts across campus by ensuring the coordination and implementation of advocacy services, leading a team of advocates, and providing support to students impacted by power and gender-based harm. The CAS will be in charge of ensuring the growth and effective functionality of the advocacy program and its services. The CAS will report to the RSVP Director.


Essential Duties: Advocacy Responsibilities: • Provide emergency response to survivors, including crisis support via the 24/7 hotline, accompaniments to SART/hospitals and DPS/law enforcement stations during scheduled shift • Provide case management support to survivors by connecting them to resources, activate referrals, and create case plan, including assistance with obtaining medical care, emergency housing, relocation, food, clothing, and academic accommodations • Accompany survivors to criminal court hearings, restraining order hearings, EEO-Title IX meetings/hearings, other campus partner meetings as well as off-campus meetings • Support survivors in preparation for investigations with law enforcement, district/city attorney's office, USC's Department of Public Safety (DPS), and EEO-Title IX • Coordinate services, provide referrals and warm handoffs to additional services on campus, including, but not limited to, student health care services, counseling, continued advocacy and academic accommodations • Develop and sustain partnership with DPS and USC after-hours call center (ProtoCall) to provide 24/7 support to students in need of immediate services due to sexual or dating violence • Receive referrals from campus partners, document them, and provide outreach to student • Input documentation for each survivor on USC's patient database • Provide back-up to all on-call (evenings and weekends) • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality • Complete monthly reports and statistical information in a timely manner Coordinator/Lead Responsibilities: • Provide leadership and structure in the development, implementation, and evaluation of RSVP's Advocacy services. • Oversee the hiring, training/onboarding, and clinical supervision of Advocates, and provide daily oversight of Advocacy operations; this includes but is not limited to: Lead recruitment, onboarding, and orientation efforts of new RSVP Advocates. Establish clear responsibilities and schedules for each Advocate. Manage advocate staffing calendar; access and check Kronos Timesheets; manage time off requests, schedule change requests, and holiday staffing. Oversee/monitor Advocates' caseloads; coordinate assignment of cases/referrals to ensure consistent and even workflow amongst all Advocates. Run daytime shift change meetings. Review end-of-shift protocol checklists. Provide case consultation to Advocates; coordinate individual debriefing sessions with Advocates for difficult or traumatic cases as needed. Enhance the professional skills and knowledge of Advocates by providing support, guidance, and resources. Participate in Advocate supervision meetings, including individual and team goal-setting meetings. Provide individual supervision to 4 per diem Advocates (monthly), and 5 full-time Advocates (bi-weekly), serve as direct-report and complete annual performance evaluations. • Serve as direct point-of-contact and main liaison for a wide array of stakeholders on and off campus, including but not limited to: Liaise with on- and off-campus stakeholders, including EEO-TIX, DPS, CSI, Greek Life, Housing and Residential Education, student organizations, and more. Serve on campus committees and collaboration meetings dedicated to supporting survivors and developing resources. Develop and maintain working relationships with and regularly engage in communication with on-campus partners including Counseling and Mental Health, DPS, EEO- Title IX, and Campus Support and Intervention, as well as off-campus partners including LAPD, Victims Compensation Board, local rape treatment and domestic violence crisis agencies, SART centers, shelters, etc. Work with the Prevention Team Lead to coordinate and present at outreach requests to campus partners. • Provide high-level oversight and coordination of RSVP's Advocacy services, including but not limited to: Create and implement policies and procedures within Advocacy services and ensure productive flow of advocacy and supportive services to survivors. Create SOPs/Job aids for all notes/documentation and other processes. Review and sign all PNC advocacy notes, provide feedback and documentation training as needed. Coordinate and facilitate weekly Advocate meetings, which include guests from DPS, EEOTIX, CMH, and RSVP clinical teams. Coordinate the on-call schedule with Protocol. Coordinate, oversee, and review DPS Roll Call trainings. Coordinate and work in collaboration with the Prevention team to help fulfill campus partner/workshop requests for advocacy support. Access, oversee, and review Five9 (RSVP's call/contact center), including: Addressing any compliance or technical issues with Five9. Coordinate with CMH and RSVP clinical teams on referrals, high risk cases, cases with safety concerns. • Conduct/contribute to data and reporting functions, including but not limited to: Oversee HIM folder for DPS reports to be uploaded on PNC (daily); meet with HIM staff monthly to review process. Oversee data entry process and meet with Clerical staff monthly. Pull reports from PNC, as needed/requested. Collect and provide case study and other statistical reports to meet goals and objectives of grant funding. • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education: • Bachelor’s degree Human services or related field Minimum Experience/Knowledge: • 5 years Experience in related field as a power and gender-based violence advocate • 1 year Experience providing advocacy services within higher education- 3 years preferred • 1 year Experience with establishing new programs implemented in an organization • Trained advocate; maintains California sexual assault crisis counseling and domestic violence counseling certificates • Ability to work effectively across different groups with cultural sensitivity • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills • Strong project and time management skills • Excellent listening skills • Knowledge and practice of trauma-informed care approaches • Ability to establish and maintain effective and supportive relationships • Ability to manage time effectively and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision • Proficient verbal/written communication skills • Proficient in MS Office and applicable computer applications Required License/Certification: • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association • Certified Sexual Assault Advocate/Counselor The annual base salary range for this position is $68,640.00 - $112,370.00.
